Bb Learn Grade Center -- Grade a Column Manually
Quick Instructions
Do the following in "Full Grade Center" in your Blackboard (Bb) Learn or Drexel Learn course section or shell:
- Type in the cell in the row for a student to enter a grade.
- Press "Enter" or "Return" on the keyboard to submit it.
Null or Revert a Grade Entered with this Method
To null a grade, enter a hypen (-) or a space from your spacebar key in the cell, press "Enter" or "Return," and click "OK."
Add Feedback to a Grade Entered with this Method
If you wish to add feedback for the student, or grading notes that the student won't see, then do the following:
- After you enter a grade in the cell, hover over the cell with your mouse, click the circled down arrow in the cell.
- Click "Quick Comment."
- In the new window that appears, enter any comments that you want the students to see in the "Feedback to Learner" box and enter any notes that you don't want the student to see but want to keep a record of in Bb Learn in the "Grading Notes" box.
- Click "Text Editor" for larger boxes with additional text formatting options for the "Feedback to Learner" and "Grading Notes" fields.
- When finished adding your comments or notes, click "Submit."
Hide Grades until All Grades are Finished.
If you don't want students to see grades or comments in a column until all grades or comments are entered into the column, do the following:
- Click the circled down arrow in the column header in "Full Grade Center."
- Click "Hide from Students (on/off)."
- A circle with a line through it will appear in the column header, indicating the column is hidden to students. If you don't see this icon, repeat steps 1-3.
- After you finish grading and entering comments in the column, click the circled down arrow in the column header in "Full Grade Center."
- Click "Hide from Students (on/off)."
- The circle with a line through it will disappear from the column header, indicating the column is no longer hidden to students. If you still see this icon, repeat steps 4-6.
