Settings DNS settings to Default or Flushing DNS cache to fix Dragonfly3 Connectivity Issues

Setting IPV4 properties to obtain DNS server automtically on Windows:

  1. Do a search in bottom Windows Taskbar for -- and open-- Windows Control Panel
  2. Navigate to All Control Panel Items - > Network And Sharing Center.

  3. Click on the blue highlighted Connection hyperlink you see, 'Ethernet' as shown above 
  4. This will open a pop-up shown your connection Status.

  5. Click on Properties, which will Open another pop-up showing the Network Properties.
  6. In the list of items shown in the Pop-up, click on  Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPV4) and select Properties.

  7. This will open IPV4 Properties.
  8. Make sure you have the Obtain DNS server address automatically option selection and not the other checkbox.

Flushing DNS cache on Windows

Sometimes you will need to flush/delete DNS cache on your device to help with connection to Dragonfly3

  1. Open Command Prompt
  2. Type in the command 'ipconfig/release' and press Enter.
  3. Then Type in the command 'ipconfig/renew' and press Enter
  4. Then Type 'ipconfig/flushdns' and press Enter.
  5. Restart your device once all these commands are executed.

Flushing DNS cache on Mac

  1. In your Mac, open the Terminal.
  2. Type in the following command 'sudo dscacheutil -flushcache' and press Enter
  3. Then type in the command 'sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder' and press Enter 
  4. This should clear your DNS cache on Mac and should allow you to connect to Dragonfly3.
