Restoring Deleted Emails
Introduction
Restoring deleted emails in Office365 Outlook or Outlook 2016 is pretty simple. This webpage covers how to do this.
Online Outlook Office365
Here is how to restore deleted emails in the online Outlook Office365 webportal.
- Visit https://outlook.office.com in you internet browser, and login.
(a) Use your Drexel email that contains your DrexelOne userid, and use your DrexelOne password. - Click the "More" link in the left-hand navigation panel.
(a) If you don't see a "More" link, move on to step 3 below. - Click the "Deleted Items" link (or folder).
- Look through the "Deleted Items" folder in the center panel to locate your email.
(a) If you find the email, right-click the email, and click "Recover."
i. The email will be restored to its original folder.
ii. Do not proceed any further with the steps below.
(b) If you cannot find the email, proceed to step 5 below. - In the center "Deleted Items" panel, look under "Deleted Items" and under "Next:...", and click "Recover deleted items" link.
- in the "Recover deleted items" pop-up window, find and check the box in front of each email you wish to recover.
(a) Hover your mouse pointer over an email to see the check box in front of it.
(b) Click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right, and enter a word or phrase to search for, and press Enter/Return on your keyboard to search through the deleted emails. - Click the "Recover" link in the upper left.
- Click "OK" in the second pop-up window.
(a) The email will be restored to the location it was in before it was deleted.
(b) If the original folder that the email was in has been deleted, the second pop-up window explains where the restored email will appear. - Close "Recover deleted items" pop-up window, and navigate to the folder where you deleted the email.
