Outlook -- Windows Install and Configure
Introduction
You can use Outlook on a Windows computer to check your Drexel Office 365 email. Here's how to configure and/or install Outlook on a Windows computer.Instructions if Outlook is already installed on your computer
1. Open the Outlook application on your Windows computer, if not already open.2. Click “File” menu, then click “Info” (if not selected already at top left), then click "Add Account," then click "Exchange or Office 365"
3. Enter your Drexel short form email address that contains your DrexelOne userid with "@drexel.edu" added (without the quotes).
a. Leave "Method" with "User Name and Password" selected.
4. Enter your DrexelOne userid and password.
a. Do not include "DREXEL\" or "Drexel\" or "drexel\" in the "User name."
b. "Configure automatically" should be checked.
5. Click "Add Account." Wait 1-2 minutes or less.
a. See this pop-up window? "Outlook was redirected to the server... Do you want to allow this server to configure your settings?"
i. Check "Always use my response for this server." Click "Allow." Wait 1-2 minutes or less.
6. Close the "Accounts" window, and you should see your Drexel email in the Outlook window.
7. Send a test email from an external email account to make sure your Drexel email is working.
Instructions when Outlook is not installed on your computer
1. Uninstall any previously installed versions of Microsoft Office first.2. Not on Drexel's wired internet network, nor on Drexel's dragonfly3 wifi internet network?
a. Use Drexel's Cisco AnyConnect VPN application to connect.
b. VPN -- Windows -- Install Cisco AnyConnect VPN to Connect to Drexel Network
3. Login to the Office 365 web portal, and make sure you can access your Drexel email there.
a. Outlook -- Web or Internet Browser
4. Click "Office 365" in upper left.
5. Click the "Install Office" link, and download and install Office to your Windows computer.
a. Not seeing the "Install Office" link? Do the following:
i. Click your name in the upper right of the Office 365 web portal at https://portal.office.com.
ii. Click "View account" on the right.
iii. Click "Install status" on the left.
iv. Click "Install desktop applications" (might look like text until you hover your mouse pointer over it).
v. Click "Install" under "Install Office."
vi. Follow the on-screen instructions and install Office 2016.
6. Open the Outlook 2016 application on your Windows computer, if not already open.
7. In the "Welcome to Outlook" window, click the > or right arrow. Then click "Get started" > "Start Using Outlook" > "Add Account" > "Exchange or Office 365".
8. Enter your Drexel short form email address that contains your DrexelOne userid with "@drexel.edu" added (without the quotes).
a. Leave "Method" with "User Name and Password" selected.
9. Enter your DrexelOne userid and password.
a. Do not include "DREXEL\" or "Drexel\" or "drexel\" in the "User name."
b. "Configure automatically" should be checked.
10. Click "Add Account." Wait 1-2 minutes or less.
a. See this pop-up window? "Outlook was redirected to the server... Do you want to allow this server to configure your settings?"

11. Close the "Accounts" window, and you should see your Drexel email in the Outlook window.
12. Send a test email from an external email account to make sure your Drexel email is working.
Troubleshooting
Not seeing email or not receiving email? Close and re-open Outlook 2016.Cannot authenticate (login)? Close and re-open Outlook 2016. If that does not work, close and re-open Outlook 2016, log in to https://portal.office.com, and then close and re-open Outlook 2016.
