Office 365 -- PowerPoint Files Corrupted But Repair Does Not Fix

Powerpoint 2013 sometimes will not open files and come up with an error saying:
PowerPoint found a problem with content in xxxx.ppt. PowerPoint can attempt to repair the presentation. If you trust the source of this presentation, click repair. There was an error accessing the file xxxxx.ppt.
Clicking "Repair" will not fix the issue, usually.

To fix this issue in PowerPoint, follow these steps:

  4. On the window called "Trust Center", click on "Protected View."
  5. Uncheck "Enable protected view for files originating from the internet".
    1. Click OK.
    2. Then click OK again.
  6. Close out of Powerpoint, and try to re-open the file giving the error.
  7. If it opens, congrats! You fixed it!!!!!!

iCommons staff are pursuing a longer term solution as well.
